Pretty Things (Aspen Righini-Nisbet, Christ’s Hospital)

Pretty Things is a delightful tea room in Horsham, rated three and a half stars on Trip Advisor. It is family friendly and beautifully decorated in shades of green and pink. With all the appropriate decorations, the space feels inviting and cozy. Pretty Things is just a nice place to spend an afternoon. P. Broughton described the tea room as “cute, quaint and cosy”. Many people would agree with that.

Pretty Things is a charming and wholesome place for families to enjoy afternoon tea. Afternoon tea for adults consists of several sandwiches, macaroons, scones, rocky streets and a selection of cakes at the counter. There was also an option for loose tea or coffee. The teacups and matching saucers were delightful as was the tea which came in an elephant shaped teapot. The tea also came with a strainer which is much nicer than the pots with built in strainers. It was well put together and served by wonderful and attentive staff. The kid’s version was a sandwich, chips, fruit and an optional cake from the counter. Orange or currant squash is served from cute unicorn teapots. It’s a lovely experience and everything tasted amazing. The scones were warm and the cream and jam were great quality.

Although quite expensive, the tea was just lovely and totally worth it. It was a great birthday present. Everything was beautifully curated, from the counter to the afternoon tea. The slices of cake were generous and served with a proper cake fork. Many flavors were offered giving many options. The staff was attentive and caring, taking the time to serve the food well and to be entertained. All in all, Pretty Things is an obvious choice for a treat. The pink front of the tea room looked like it came straight out of a rom-com. It was a great experience for the whole family. Pretty Things (Aspen Righini-Nisbet, Christ’s Hospital)
