Music released by Rotana, which is said to be the largest record label in the Middle East, has been available on Deezer exclusively in the MENA region since 2018, the year the French-born service launched in MENA.

Warner Music Group acquired a minority stake in Rotana Music in February last year.

Rotana Music is home to prominent Arabic artists including Mohammad Abdo, Abdul Majeed Abdullah, Rashid Al Majid, Abdullah Al Ruwaished, Majed Al Mohandes, Rabeh Saqr, Nawal Al Kuwaitiya, Ahlam, in addition to Amr Diab, Assala, Elissa, Tamer Hosni, Najwa Karam, Sherine Abdel Wahab, Angham, Wael Kfoury, Saber Al-Rubai and others from the Levant, Egypt and North Africa.

Rotana also claims to be the largest producer of video clips in the Arab world.

Anghami says the deal represents a reunion between the two companies, with Rotana named as one of Anghami’s key partners when it was formed in 2012.

The deal, struck in Riyadh between Mr. Salem Al Hindi, CEO of Rotana Music Holding, and Eddy Maroun, co-founder and CEO of Anghami, follows news of Anghami’s listing on the NASDAQ in New York.

Anghami reports more than 75 million registered users with around 1 billion streams per month and a catalog of more than 75 million songs.

Established in 1993, Rotana Music Holding is the largest record label and music repertoire owner in the Arab world, with Saudi legend Mohammad Abdo and seven of Forbes Middle East’s top 10 Arab singers in its portfolio.

Earlier this month, Anghami also signed an exclusive multi-year deal with global Arab megastar Amr Diab to be the sole platform to stream his label’s entire catalog and future releases.

“We are very excited to enter into this partnership with Anghami, which will also strengthen the relationship between Rotana and its artists.”

“We are confident that this collaboration will expand the business even further to reach Rotana music fans around the world.”

“This partnership represents an important addition to our already unrivaled selection of Arabic music and will give Rotana’s portfolio of artists and outstanding Arabic talent a powerful platform to share their voice with the world.”

“There’s no better way to celebrate Anghami’s tenth anniversary and the next chapter than to expand our library of 72 million songs to include Rotana’s authentic Arabic content and reward fans with a wealth of original tracks.”music business worldwide
