Primark move to fitting rooms sees customers threatened with boycott

Customers threaten Primark with boycott

However, the move has drawn some negative reactions online, with customers using the hashtag “boycott Primark” on Twitter.

primark tweeted: “We want our stores to be places where everyone feels safe and welcome. We’ve listened and are making some important changes to our fitting rooms,” following which a customer shared his frustration with the new policy.

They wrote: “No you didn’t. If someone can “identify as a woman” and gain access to areas where women and the vulnerable undress, they still don’t listen and allow predators. We see you. We will not buy from you.”

In the announcement statement, Primark said: “We want our stores to be places where everyone feels safe and welcome.

“We are sorry to hear that this was not the experience that some people in our dressing rooms were reporting.

“We have listened to feedback from our customers and colleagues and you will see changes across our UK stores over the coming weeks.”

The store confirmed on Twitter that the changes would also apply to stores in Ireland.
