Prince Andrew visits the Queen every day to make amends for his sexual abuse shame.

The Duke of York visits his mother daily at her home at Windsor Castle after being dramatically snubbed by the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A royal source said: “Andrew is doing everything he can to make amends for the shame he has caused his family for being involved in such a scandal. He wants to make amends with the Queen, so he makes every effort to see her as often as possible.

“The rest of the family, apart from Her Majesty, agree that he should stay out of the limelight and remain silent after leaving such a stain on the family.”

Insiders say he drove the five miles from his home at Royal Lodge to “make sure she was comfortable and taken care of”.

Royal staff say “you can set your watch” on Andrew’s pre-lunch visits.

A royal insider said: “Although he was obviously hurt because he was pushed aside for the anniversary celebrations, he has been extremely alert of late and seems determined to be there for his mum while showing the family that he is.” is still useful.

“He was a regular daily visitor to the castle and often drops by to see the Queen before riding out for the day, taking full advantage of the incredible facilities.

“The duke sometimes stays after his ride and dines with the queen.”

Sources say he appeared to be making more visits after Prince Harry, 37, revealed he visited the Queen last month and told a US TV interview he wanted to make sure she had “the right people around her”.

A friend of the Duke said he was “deeply offended” by the comments, adding: “He (Andrew) has been visiting the Queen regularly but she is his mother after all.”

Andrew, 62, was banned from royal life in January after being told he would face a US civil trial over allegations that he sexually abused 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre in 2001.

Despite insisting he had no memory of meeting Giuffre, now 38, Andrew paid her £12million in an out-of-court settlement.

His spokesman did not comment.
