If he continues, Andrew will face a full civil trial in New York for claiming he sexually abused Ms Giuffre three times in 2001 when she was 17.

Andrew has always strongly denied any charges against him.

The insider stated Andrew can settle the case out of court if it goes to trial, with his lawyers keeping the settlement option “on the table” due to the negative impact a court case could have on other senior royals.

But with legal bills on the rise, mirror announced the Queen “will not support” any further financial settlement for Ms Giuffre over the allegations.

He is now trying to sell the £17m Swiss chalet he has owned with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson since 2014 to cover the bills, the outlet reports.

A source told the newspaper: ‘He is covering all the expenses himself so he needs to raise cash quickly to pay the bills that are increasing day by day.

It is understood the duke is trying to close the sale of the seven-bedroom Chalet Helora in the Verbier ski resort on an “urgent” basis.

Fergie and the couple’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, are enjoying a stay at the resort while Andrew is at the Royal Lodge, Windsor.

The duke’s team is waiting for a judge to decide whether Ms Giuffre’s civil case should be completely reduced.

They claim a secret 2009 deal she made with billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein exempted Andrew from legal action.

But Judge Lewis Kaplan The inability to accept the pending offer means that the attorneys will have to decide whether to settle or risk harsh punishment from the attorneys in court.

Ms Giuffre claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times between 1999 and 2002 – in London, New York and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island, which he vehemently denies.

She could spend the rest of her life in prison after being was convicted of five of six counts of sex trafficking for Epstein’s vile pedophile ring.
