Today, the royal family will be in a reflective mood as they commemorate the late Prince Philip.
He died exactly one year ago today at Windsor Castle aged 99 – and no doubt his loved ones will remember that sad day 12 months ago.
However, today is more of a bittersweet day for his eldest son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
Not only is it the first anniversary of his father’s death, it’s also their 17th wedding anniversary.
The couple were married in a civil ceremony on April 9, 2005 before receiving a church blessing at Windsor Castle.
Although the Queen and Philip did not attend the civil ceremony, they did attend the blessing and reception that followed.
Last year, when Charles and Camilla had been married for 16 years, Philip died and they didn’t celebrate their anniversary on social media.
Instead, they followed other royal accounts on Twitter and Instagram by sharing a black and white portrait of Philip with the news of his death.

And the next day, Charles showed up outside his home in Highgrove, Gloucestershire, where he paid a heartfelt tribute to his father.
He said: “I especially wanted to say that over the last 70 years my father has rendered the most remarkable and devoted service to the Queen, to my family and to the country, but also to the Commonwealth as a whole.

“As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father very much.
“He was a very loved and cherished figure and apart from anything else, I can imagine he would be so touched by the number of other people here and elsewhere around the world and the Commonwealth who I think share our loss as well and our sadness.
“My dear papa was a very special person who I think would have been amazed above all by the reaction and the touching things that were said about him and from that perspective we, my family, are deeply grateful for all of that.
“It will support us through this special loss and at this particularly sad time. Thanks very much.”
It’s unclear how Charles and Camilla will celebrate this sad day and their wedding anniversary.
However, it is believed that the Queen will mark the sad milestone privately at Windsor Castle.
She will celebrate her 96th birthday in just under two weeks, on April 21st, and is less than two months away from the grand celebration of her platinum anniversary.
