A royal expert believes Prince Harry is “absolutely furious” at his treatment during the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations.

The Sussexes attended an anniversary event publicly – the Thanksgiving Service at St Paul’s. They were seated in the second row and across the aisle from Kate and Prince William, with the couple not acknowledging one another or exchanging eye contact.

Ahead of the service to mark the Queen’s 70th reign, Harry could be seen laughing at jokes and chatting to family and friends while seated next to his wife.

Angela Levin, who wrote the Duke of Sussex’s biography, said the sun : “What really struck me that day was Harry’s anger – he wears his emotions on his face and he looked absolutely furious.

“He could have felt many things, I don’t know if he had a surge of feeling what he had given up. He’s self-destructive and may regret what he lost, maybe he was remembering bad memories and wished he hadn’t come.”

The Sussexes were also shunned from a balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace as the Queen only had working royals in the Trooping the Color lineup.

Harry and Meghan were also keen for their own photographer to capture the moment the Queen first met their daughter in Windsor – they are reported to have been told “no way” as it was a private moment.

The photographer has not been named, but her friend and regular snapper Misan Harriman took the picture of Lilibet at Frogmore Cottage to celebrate her first birthday last Saturday.

Harry and Meghan did not spend any private time with Prince William, Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis during the anniversary, it is said, and William’s family may not have met Lilibet at all.

An insider said the brothers’ relationship is “strained” after the Sussexes’ transatlantic “truth bombs” about the royal family on Oprah and friendly podcasts in the US.

It’s understood that William and Harry didn’t meet privately during the four-day celebrations, as Harry quickly returned to California and didn’t think to check his brother’s diary to smooth things over.
