Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making generous donations to the late 9-year-old’s family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a generous donation to entrepreneur Kelly McKee Zafjen after news of their nine-year-old son’s death broke online. Kelly took to Instagram to share the devastating news with her followers and inspired a friend to set up a GoFundMe page for her grieving family.

Sharing a photo of her late son George Zafjen piggybacking his twin sister, Kelly wrote, “My sweet little boy. My world shattered into a thousand pieces. I have little ability to breathe. Stroll. Function. Sit. Stand. You were the light of my life. Your smile made the room so bright and your heart was at its most perfect and sweet.

“You left this earth and left behind so many people who loved you. I don’t know how to continue. how i can function How can I be the light and always have joy, but I will try. Do your best for your beautiful twin sister,” she continued.

Shortly after George’s death, Kelly’s family friend Kate Jefferson created a GoFundMe page on her behalf and said in the description field that she set up the page to raise funds for the Zajfen family, who are grieving George.

“He was the happiest and nicest boy who lived on earth. George’s heart was compassionate, his smile contagious, and his love for his twin sister and parents was palpable. This unexpected loss is beyond devastating and it will take time for the Zajfen family to even heal,” she wrote.

In response to the initiative, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex donated $5,000 under their children’s names Archie and Lillibet. It remains unclear how the Sussexes are linked to the Zafjens, but it is suspected that Meghan was friends with Kelly, who co-founded Alliance of Moms, a community supporting pregnant and parenting teenagers in Los Angeles.

In addition to Prince Harry and Meghan, Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson and his wife Tracey Kurland also donated to the cause, suggesting the Duchess and Engelson may have known the Zajfens during their marriage.
