Prince Harry insists US is ‘temporary’ home despite ‘very nice’ visit to Queen

Prince Harry said he’s happy to live in the US ‘for the time being’ and admits he feels at home in the US

Prince Harry has revealed that while he enjoyed a secret visit to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen, the United States has remained his home country for now.
Speaking of his reunion with his grandmother last week, he told Today presenter Hoda Kotb: “It’s great to be with Grandma. It’s nice to meet her.
“You know she’s in great form. She’s always had a great sense of humor to me.”
But while he doesn’t exactly rule out a return to the UK in the future, he does admit that America now feels at home for him.
He continued: “Home for me right now is in the United States. And I really feel that way.
“We were welcomed with open arms and we have such a wonderful community in Santa Barbara.”
When Hoda asked again if America felt like home, he simply replied, “Yes.”
The Duke of Sussex spoke to the host government while attending the Invictus Olympics in the Netherlands.
He also revealed how he was able to make his grandmother laugh during their conversation and insisted he was making sure she was “protected”.
Harry told the presenter: “I just made sure she was protected and had the right people around her.”
The presenter went on to tell Harry how he was in the habit of making the Queen laugh and asked if he could do it again.
He nodded and flashed a big smile as he replied, “Yes, I did. Meghan and I both had tea with her and it was a pleasure to strike up a conversation with her.”
He had previously told the BBC how his grandmother would love to join him at the Invictus Games.
He told the publication: “She had a lot of messages for Team UK that I passed on to most of them.”

They fled to North America after announcing they were leaving the Royal Family and have lived in the state ever since.
Shortly after moving, they arranged to settle in California, which has since been their permanent base.
A royal source told Sun at the time the couple decided to “have to go out” before the border closed in the near future due to the Covid pandemic.
In their initial waiver statement, Meghan and Harry said they would split their time between the UK and North America, but that plan appeared to be rapidly changing.
Prince Harry’s Today interview airs Wednesday.
