Prince Harry will have felt “very, very badly” for not being on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after Trooping the Color, according to a royal biographer.

The Sussexes are back in the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and are reportedly trying to keep a low profile so as not to divert attention from the celebrations.

Despite the Queen regularly criticizing the royal family in US media, the Queen is said to have been keen to see the Sussexes and meet their youngest child Lilibet for the first time.

Harry and Meghan opened up about their issues with other royals, including in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke of Sussex told the talk show host he needed to “break the cycle” and raise his family in a different environment.

But royal author Tom Bower has claimed Harry should have been on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Thursday, implying he got lost.

He also claimed that it was Meghan Markle’s influence that made him distance himself from the royal family.

Mr Bower told Dan Wootton Tonight on GB news : “Harry should have been on parade, he should have been in uniform. That’s what his whole life was about. Meghan has completely undermined him in that sense and set him up against his own family.”

The Sussexes watched from the Major General’s office, overlooking Horse Guards Parade, during Trooping the Color rather than playing an active role.

They were then absent from the Buckingham Palace balcony, which was reserved for working royals.

Meghan was pictured wearing a cream wide-brimmed hat with a navy blue ribbon during Trooping the Color and Mr Bower claimed she was trying to draw attention.

“I thought it was extraordinary how she would crowd to the window with an oversized hat and a big smile and roll down the car window so she could be seen,” he said.

“And here’s this woman who hasn’t apologized for all the lies she’s told about Oprah Winfrey and for all the horrible troubles she’s caused the royal family — not least the racial allegations — and she’s just coming.” here to promote yourself.

“It will be very interesting to see tomorrow and the rest of the weekend if the couple can actually recover and get the spotlight they desperately need for their own financial status as royals in America.”

The 96-year-old Queen appeared on the balcony with her family, but the palace later said she had experienced repeated mobility problems and some ailments and would no longer attend a Thanksgiving service on Friday.

However, she is reportedly set to meet with the Sussexes on Saturday for Lilibet’s first birthday.
