Prince William wants the embarrassed Andrew “to get out of the public eye,” an insider claims

A source suggests Prince William sees scandal-plagued Prince Andrew’s desire to remain in a public role as “highly dangerous to the institution”.

Prince William is trying to ensure Prince Andrew fully steps down from his role as king following his ongoing sex scandal, sources say.

The Duke of York stepped down from royal duties after the Queen stripped him of his military titles and HRH status following a sex scandal in January.

Andrew denied the allegations against him and later reached an out-of-court settlement with his accuser. The settlement is not an admission of guilt.

Now it seems that Prince William is taking more of a leading role in ensuring Prince Andrew stays behind closed doors.

An insider said so Daily Mail that William holds “strong views” of the Duke of York and believes that “his insistence on clinging to a public role is extremely dangerous to the institution”.

Another source, a friend, added that William “would have cut [Andrew] already started long ago if it had been up to him”.

“He understands that the situation is complicated when it comes to mother and son, but honestly I think he just wishes he were out of the public eye,” they added.

This comes after Andrew was reportedly furious at being left out of the lavish Garter Day procession at Windsor Castle earlier this month.

The Duke of York was not seen publicly during the ceremony after Prince Charles and Prince William reportedly urged the Queen to keep Andrew in the shadows.

Andrew was said to have been “dejected and confused” by the decision after expecting to attend the event – it was likely a last minute decision by the Queen as Andrew had reportedly been inducted into the Order of Service.

Andrew had already missed the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations after testing positive for Covid-19.

When it comes to Andrew’s future as royal, reports suggest that William and Charles are in agreement about his role in public life.

They also share the same views on the future vision of the family as a whole, another source said, adding that William is “absolutely on the same page as his father, always was, always will be.”

It is coming that William and Kate will be moving from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage near Windsor Castle in the coming weeks – a move designed to help William take on more responsibilities from the Queen as she continues to struggle with mobility issues Has.
