Princess Beatrice was in high spirits and joking with photographers when she arrived at Royal Ascot.
Showing up at the Berkshire racetrack alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, she looked glamorous as she walked through the gates with the other bettors.
Beatrice chose a beautiful summery floral dress for the occasion, which she paired with an elegant hat, sophisticated belt and clutch bag with her initials BY – Beatrice York.
But some royal fans have noticed that she also wore a name tag on her dress – as is customary at Royal Ascot, and this year it looked very different to the name she had on the badge in previous years.
This is because the badge read HRH Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, reflecting that she tied the knot with husband Edo in July 2020.
And after being surrounded by photographers, Beatrice joked, “I’ll be here all day,” she reported Hi!
Unfortunately, the Queen was a notable absence from the race after retiring.
The 96-year-old monarch has suffered from ongoing mobility problems in recent months and it is the first time she has been absent from the annual horseracing event since ascending the throne in 1952 – except when it was held privately in 2020 due to Covid.
Increasingly, she has had to scale back her appearances at events, especially since health crises last year.
At the platinum anniversary celebrations earlier this month, she was forced to prioritize the occasions with not doing too much.
She ended up being at two events while other senior royals, notably Charles and William, stepped in to replace her.
The Queen is believed to have been watching the races from home, with her horse King’s Lynn racing in the King’s Stand Stakes at 3.40pm, reported OK!
Her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, 33, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, looked stunning as she stepped out in the semi-sheer white dress with a floral motif, cinching it at the waist with a tan belt.
Her husband of two years, Eduardo, matched his wife by pairing a pink tie with his three-piece suit and sported a top hat atop his brown locks.
Beatrice married her Italian husband in a private ceremony at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park.
The Queen, the late Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Andrew, 62, were among the guests at the small wedding, which was attended by just 20 guests during the pandemic.
Beatrice gave birth to their daughter Sienna, their first child and Eduardo’s second, in September 2021.
