Now that their royal tour of the Caribbean is over, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be excited to spend time with their children George, Charlotte and Louis.

And today is going to be extra special for Kate as it’s Mother’s Day and her little ones will no doubt have some lovely surprises for her when she gets home.

It’s also a day Kate will honor her mother, Carole Middleton, and the whole family will also remember Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Though she hasn’t met her grandchildren, William has spoken out in the past about how he talks to his kids about their grandma.

And last Mother’s Day, the youngsters designed all of Diana’s cards – with Princess Charlotte’s having a particularly poignant message.

Her message was on a fuchsia card with a hand-drawn multicolored heart.

And in it, she made sure to mention how much her father William misses his mother.

Charlotte wrote: “Dear Grandma Diana, Thinking of you on Mother’s Day.

“I love you very much. dad misses you Kind regards, Charlotte xxxxxxxxx”.

Prince Louis also made a card

And Louis, who was just two at the time, also used a green card for his Mother’s Day card, which featured a colorful heart surrounded by several animals – all of which had been pasted onto the card.

The cards were posted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account, where four images were uploaded with a heartfelt message.

It revealed: “Every year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards commemorating their grandma Diana for William. Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s Day.”

In the 2017 documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, William spoke candidly and said he was committed to ensuring his children know all about their late grandmother.

He said he wanted his kids to “know who she was and that she existed,” and how he “constantly” talks to his kids before bed “about Grandma Diana,” so they know “there are two grandmothers in your life”.

The king-to-be said: “We have more photos of her around the house now and we’re talking about her a bit.”

He added: “It’s hard because Catherine obviously didn’t know her, so she can’t really provide those details, so I regularly put George and Charlotte to bed and talk about them and just try to remind them that there are two.” Grandmothers there were two grandmothers in her life.

“So it’s important that they know who she was and that she existed.”
