Princess Diana’s family have unveiled a moving tribute to her older brother John, who tragically died shortly after birth.

Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, took to Instagram to unveil a beautiful restoration of John’s tombstone commemorating his short life.

The first of the two images in his Instagram post shows a before image of the grave of John, who was born and died on January 12, 1960, in poor condition.

An engraving of the Spencer crest can be seen on the worn tomb where the writing is barely legible, Reports OK!.

But a second picture shows a restored tombstone that is a loving tribute to John’s life, which reads: “In loving memory of John Spencer, son of Viscount and Viscountess Althorp, born and died 12 January 1960.

Last month, Charles, the manager of the Spencer family’s Althorp estate in Northamptonshire, also took to Instagram for a private peek inside his family grave.

The Earl, an uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry, is commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of his late ancestor Sir John Spencer, who was a politician and was knighted in his lifetime.

Charles shared a look inside his private tomb, where a stone figure rested with hands folded in a gesture of prayer.
