Putin and Zelensky star in Lewes Bonfire Night

The opponents who dominated the headlines in 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine were the focus of a tableau that will be carried through the streets on Saturday 5 November.

The tableau shows Zelensky disguised as Rambo riding a Ukrainian tank, while Putin is mounted on the tank’s cannon while depicted as a pig.

A spokesman for the Lewes Borough Bonfire Society, who created the design, said: “This year we pay tribute to the man who leads his nation in its brave stand against oppression and invasion, and carries men and women of his compatriots to ensure they… have the freedoms that we in the West value so much and yet take for granted.”
