Ukraine: Reporters show the ‘graveyard’ of Russian combat vehicles
A “graveyard” of Russian military vehicles has been discovered in a humiliating defeat against the forces of tycoon Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian military commanders claim to have killed hundreds of enemy soldiers as they tried to cross the Seversky Donets River near Severodonetsk in the east of the country.
Footage and photos from the scene show destroyed military vehicles – with one Ukrainian soldier claiming the Russians looked like “some sort of suicide club”.
The soldier, who goes by the name Yuri, told Sky News: “It looks like they’re some sort of suicide club, or their commander just doesn’t care about them – that’s weird.
“They just send them to die and they obey stupid, stupid orders from their commander.”

Russian forces are understood to have attempted to use smoke as cover when they built a pontoon bridge over the strategically important river.
But Ukrainian forces waited and launched a devastating attack that is believed to have killed hundreds of Russians and destroyed about 70 vehicles.
Ukraine’s 30th Mechanized Brigade said yesterday that the Ukrainian army destroyed dozens of Russian armored vehicles stationed near the village of Dronivka.
In a statement it read: “Defeat the Russian army near the village of Dronivka, Donetsk region, during the crossing of the Seversky Donets River.”

Meanwhile, the Center for Strategic Communications (StratCom) said: “The Russian military tried to break through the Seversky Donets river near the village of Dronivka and established three bridgeheads.
“However, the heroism and resilience of the infantry, artillery and tank units of the 30th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstanty Ostrogski and other units of the Armed Forces allowed us to prevent intercept the Russian troops and inflict heavy losses on them.
“The result of the defeat: dozens of units of Russian armored vehicles destroyed.”
Sievierodonetsk and its twin Lysychansk across the River Siverski Donets form the eastern part of a Ukrainian-held pocket that Russia has been trying to overflow since mid-April after failing to capture Kyiv.
