QuakeCon will again be a purely digital event this year

QuakeCon 2022 will be a purely digital event, Bethesda has announced.

Betheda said that while the event, which runs August 18-20, is disappointed that the event will not be returning to Dallas this year as things are still uncertain at the moment, QuakeCon will remain a digital event.

“Like you, we are disappointed not to be returning to Dallas this year. An event of this size requires months of planning, and in this case we had to make decisions when there was still too much uncertainty to commit to a successful execution -Person QuakeCon.

“The QuakeCon team is already hard at work putting together exciting new streaming programs, online meetups, giveaways, charity offers, virtual BYOC and more, and we’ll be announcing more details in June.”

The current plan is to hold a full in-person event in 2023.

Last year (and the year before) QuakeCon was all digital and featured a global stream with appearances from developers, game updates and more.

There was also an official QuakeCon Twitch team, a dedicated QuakeCon Discord, charity initiatives, and the annual animal charity t-shirts reissued.

Details for this year’s QuakeCon will be announced at a later date. QuakeCon will again be a purely digital event this year
