Trooping the Color: The Queen makes a balcony appearance

The Queen beamed as she stepped onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace as part of her platinum anniversary celebrations for Trooping the Color.

Dressed in a powder blue wool Angela Kelly beaded and rhinestone beaded Charmelaine dress, she joined the Duke in Kent to inspect the military parade.

She used a walking stick and wore the guard badge on her coat.

She is soon joined by Prince Charles, Camilla, the Cambridges and other senior royals to watch the RAF fly past after a huge procession of military carriages.

Thousands of well-wishers lined the Mall to celebrate the historic occasion, and some camped overnight to secure the best spots indoors. The famous street is a sea of ​​Union Jack flags, party hats, plastic tiaras and handcrafted signs with messages to the monarch.

This morning the Queen was seen driving from Windsor Castle to London ready for the celebrations.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis made their carriage debut as they joined their mother Kate and step-grandmother Camilla in a carriage for a military procession earlier this morning.

Dressed in different shades of white and blue, they beamed as they waved to the ecstatic crowd.

The young Cambridges and the Duchesses’ carriage known as the Barouche were followed by another with the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their children Lady Louise Mountbatten Windsor and Viscount Severn.

They were later seen watching the parade with their second cousins ​​through a window, with Louis performing an adorable salute.

Princess Eugenie was among the first to pay tribute to her grandmother, praising her “grandma’s” 70 years of service.
