Queen Elizabeth News – Inside the ‘forgotten castle’ that could become Prince William & Kate Middleton’s new home

‘I have to put Andrew’s bears in order of size’ (Continued…)

Former Buckingham Palace maid Charlotte Briggs revealed the majority of teddies are dressed in sailor suits, uniforms and caps, and are picked from all over the world.

The largest is placed at the back, with the rest in descending order of size at the front.

But two of the Prince’s favorite teddies are proudly placed on two mahogany thrones at the head of his bed. “The rollaway beds have to be in the specific order of his four-poster bed, from the largest in the back, down to the smallest in the front,” says Charlotte.

“All 72 of them. Each must be positioned carefully. They did old fashioned teddy bear – the Steiffs – and nearly all of them were wearing sailor suits and hats.

“It took me half an hour to sort them out – the weirdest thing that paid off.

“Then, before I go to bed, I have to take off all the essentials and arrange them around the room.

“They each have a place. We had to stack the smaller ones in an unused fireplace, again in size order, to make them look good.

“His two favorite bears sit on two thrones on either side of the bed. Others will sit at the foot of the bed on the floor. “
