Queen Elizabeth’s multi-million dollar tiaras could be passed on to Charles, Camilla

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96. She is worth $600 million at the time of her death.

According to multiple news outlets, her fortune includes properties she inherited from her father such as Balmoral Castle in Scotland and the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, a valuable stock portfolio, several works of art and a personal jewel collection. Who will inherit this fortune?

Charles III, who became king after her death, will inherit the bulk of the Queen’s private wealth without paying inheritance tax, according to the Washington Post.

But as for the late king’s tiaras, royal commentator Josh Rom told the New York Post, “It’s likely she’ll want to pass on items from her private collection to loved ones.”

“The bulk of the collection will pass to Charles – with Camilla as his wife – and then to Kate, so they may not be left with much [in the will],” he added.

Some of the Queen’s crowns and brooches, as well as her ceremonial clubs and rings, form part of the Crown Jewels on display at the Tower of London. This collection does not belong to the Queen but to the Crown and whoever the monarch is.

There is also the Royal Collection which contains most of the royal family’s artworks and their jewellery.

The Royal Collection, which today includes more than 1 million objects, is divided into two parts. Most of the items are held in trust by the reigning monarch.

Some are part of the Queen’s personal collection – mostly made up of items she inherited or bought herself. Others were also gifted by family members.

Many of Queen Elizabeth’s recognizable tiaras were reportedly part of her collection. That means she could give them to anyone she wanted.

Before ascending the throne, Charles’ net worth was estimated at $100 million by Celebrity Net Worth. The outlet reported that with the Queen’s death, Charles now has a net worth of $600 million.

After Charles ascended the ranks, his eldest son, William, became Prince of Wales – the designation given to the heir to the throne.
