Queen launches royal brown sauce to compete with HP at £6.99 a bottle

The monarchy has to fight the houses of Congress again – launching a brown sauce to confront HP.
Royal ketchup is also rampant in the market – but both will need a sauce that earns a considerable amount at £6.99 a bottle.
“Royal” seasoning is produced at the Queen’s residence in Sandringham, Norfolk.
Although the English Civil War is unlikely to be repeated, they will have to compete with sauce giant Heinz, whose royal order to manufacture our tableware before our meals.
Sandringham’s Tomato Sauce features dates, apple juice and seasonings, and is “ideal for breakfast or any time of day”.
It will set you back £6.99 for a 295g bottle, compared with 60p for Sainsbury’s 460g version.
Sandringham’s Brown Sauce is “packed with vinegar and spices”. But it’s half the size of a 600g HP bottle owned by Heinz – £2.89 at Tesco.
Kate Taylor, 41, a local from Norfolk, said: “If I’m paying £6.99 for a bottle of something, I want alcohol in it.”
