Queen releases lost song featuring Freddie Mercury

Queen has released a lost track featuring late band member Freddie Mercury for the first time in more than eight years.

ace It Alone was originally recorded during the 1988 performances by the British rock band for their album The Miracle, but is still among those that did not appear on the final cut.

It was later rediscovered when the band’s production and archiving team returned to meetings to work on the album’s upcoming re-release.

The single is the first new song released to feature Mercury since the 2014 Queen Forever album, which includes three previously unheard tracks with the singer titled Let Me In Your Heart Again, Love Kills and There Must Be More to Life Than This.

The former frontman of the Queen died of Aids-related complications in 1991 at the age of 45.

The classic rock band – consisting of Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon – formed in 1970 and together created hits including Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You.

Speaking of the rediscovered track, May said: “I am delighted that our team was able to find this track.

“After all these years, it’s great to hear all four of us, yes, Deacy was there too, working in the studio on a great song idea that was never finished… until now. .”

Taylor added: “We forgot about this track but it was there, this little gem.

“It’s amazing, a real discovery. It’s a very passionate work.”

The song appeared before the November 18 re-release of the band’s 13th album The Miracle, which was originally released in 1989.

The album – which included the songs I Want It All, Breakthru and The Invisible Man – reached number one in the UK at the time.

It will now be available in the eight-disc collection box edition format.

Among its contents, the expansion set includes The Miracle Sessions, an overtime disc of previously unreleased recordings including six unpublished songs.

It also includes the band’s voice-overs on studio floors in London and Montreux, providing a glimpse into the four members’ creative processes and their personal relationships.

The Queen’s The Miracle Collection Edition will be available on the market from November 18.
