QuinnBet, the online gambling company controlled by other members of the Quinn family, paid a dividend of almost €1.7 million last year as it made a profit of €2.2 million.
The dividend was paid by the company behind QuinnBet – Belbridge Consultancy – to a parent company, Quinnb Sports, which in turn paid a dividend of €1.5 million to its shareholders.
Quinnb Sports’ shareholders are primarily corporations, with directors including a number of Quinn family members, according to filings with the Companies Registration Office.
Former billionaire Sean Quinn owned virtually all shares in Quinnb as of 2021. He resigned as a director of the company in 2019.
A TV documentary series chronicling Mr Quinn’s demise began this week on RTÉ.
While QuinnBet recently made headlines for its 2021 performance, it did not disclose the dividend it paid. The dividend payment will be noted in the accounts just submitted by the companies behind the gaming operation.
The €1.5 million dividend paid by Quinnb Sports last year was split mainly between the shareholder companies and Brenda Quinn. She is the youngest daughter of Sean Quinn.
Her company, Bloc Investments, made a profit of just over €261,000 last year, reflecting the company’s share of dividends paid by Quinnb Sports. Ms. Quinn fully owns Bloc Investments.
There are four other companies that own shares in Quinnb Sports, all of which have directors who are members of the Quinn family.
However, the directors include son Sean Jnr and four daughters, but shares in the companies are held by attorney Eoin O’Shea, a longtime legal representative of the Quinn family.
Sean Quinn Jnr and his wife Karen Quinn are directors of a company called Secoth Investments. It holds 325 common shares of Quinnb Sports and posted a profit of almost €490,000 last year, which represents its share of dividends.
The directors of a company called Pookie are Sean Quinn Snr’s daughter Ciara and her husband Niall McPartland. She recorded a profit of 261,000 euros last year.
Keeyra Holdings, whose directors are Aoife, Mr Quinn’s daughter, and Stephen Kelly, QuinnBet’s CEO, reported a profit of €261,000 last year.
Senara Investments directors are Collette Quinn and Alan Dennany. The company made a profit of €223,000 last year.
