MANCHESTER CITY player Raheem Sterling is said to have opened the door for Barcelona on loan.
The 27-year-old lost his place in Pep Guardiola’s side at the end of last season and there were rumors of a possible departure.
Sterling himself even admitted in an interview with the Financial Times last October that if a proposal were made with more game time on the table, he would be interested.
He said: “If there is an opportunity to go somewhere else to play more time, I will gladly take it.”
And follow The AthleticSterling has expressed interest in a move to Barca, who are looking to loan him out for the rest of the season.
However, Barca chose to cancel the terms on his Man City team-mate Ferran Torres.
Xavi wants Torres to be the spearhead of his attack and the face of his Barca vision.
Sterling’s form has since improved, scoring nine goals in all competitions, as well as picking up the Premier League Player of the Year award in December.

The report says that Sterling has also yet to agree new terms with the Premier League champions.
In the midst of a World Cup year, Sterling wants to play as often as possible.
And being tied to a new, longer contract could hamper his chances to secure game time elsewhere should he ever want to leave the team again.
