Random: This Pokémon fan now owns a second incredibly rare official Pokémon

What is the ultimate merch? A limited edition game console? A rare print of a game? A giant plush? Well, Tiktok user Mewisme700 may have the answer to this burning question that not even a burn cure can heal.
This Pokémon fan and merchandise collector shared a video on her Tiktok showing her recent purchase. It’s not something she can fit into her already jam-packed merch room, nor is it a ridiculously rare and absurdly expensive Pokémon card. Instead it is something much cooler than that.
If you think back to the late ’90s (and try not to feel too old), you might recall that Nintendo created the Pikabug, a Volkswagen Beetle used to promote the franchise. There are only ten of these in the world and Mewisme is the proud owner of the seventh, Pika7. Mewisme confirmed on Reddit back in 2019 that she paid around $8,000 for the vehicle, but it required a major restoration, which she’s been working hard on ever since.
Now she has a friend accompanying the yellow mouse car, one Nintendo designed to promote the second generation of games, Pokémon Gold and Silver – a Lugia Chrysler PT Cruiser.
In the video, Mewisme says she paid $900 just to ship the thing, but it looks like it’s in pretty good condition! All of Lugia’s trademark black spikes and big, long tail adorn the vehicle – although according to Mewisme it’s a little broken. However, the wings are part of the decal, which is probably for the best. Nintendo only had five of these cars made, meaning they’re even rarer than Pikachu’s!
The car drove around the United States between September 1 and October 6, 2000 and came equipped with a TV and a Nintendo 64 for fans to play games Inside the car. How amazing is that!? Bulbapedia has chronicled the entire tour route of these cruisers which you can check out on their promotional tour page.
We found a listing for the car that Mewisme shared on Reddit back in 2020, which includes a ton of close-ups of the vehicle’s interior and exterior. This is probably the most accurate look we’ll ever get of this, so dive into the list.
As the proud owner of both a Pikachu and a Lugia car, the eager fan was happy to share a photo of the two side by side. How majestic!
Well, we’re incredibly jealous, but even happier that someone who loves Pokémon so much managed to snag the car. Pikachu and Lugia make a pretty nice couple.
If anyone has memories of the Pokémon cars from back then or just wants to rave about these vehicles, drop us a comment!
