Rare photo of young Phil Lynott appeared in a Dublin park on the 37th anniversary of his death

A Rarely Seen photo of Phil Lynott has surfaced on the anniversary of singer Thin Lizzy’s death.

ubliner Phil passed away 37 years ago yesterday at the age of 36.

The photo here was taken at Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green in January 1976, when he was 26 years old.

An insider revealed: “The big, long-haired man standing next to Phil with his back to the camera is Larry Mooney.

“He got into the entertainment business, managing bands, advertising gigs, etc.

“Larry and Phil used to share a bed in Kelly’s Corner, Dublin. Money was tight for both of them at the time and that was before Phil became famous.

“The bed consisted of a dingy room with two beds. There is only one bathroom in the building and is shared by multiple tenants.

“Larry’s friends often joke that Phil has so many call girls that he rarely gets a good night’s sleep.”

“It’s hard to believe but Phil died 37 years on January 4th. He was only 36 years old when he died, meaning he has been dead longer than he lived. Larry also sadly passed away a few years ago.”

A statue of Phil stands outside the downtown Bruxelles pub and holds the memory of the rocker who had huge hits with Whiskey In The Jar, The Boys Are Back In Town and Old Town.

Phil became addicted to drugs and alcohol in the last years of his life and died of heart failure and sepsis pneumonia on January 4, 1986.

He was buried with his late mother Philomena at St Fintan Cemetery in Sutton, Dublin.
