Beloved actor Ray Liotta has passed away aged 67, in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic.
He was away from the country filming what was sure to be another powerful and captivating performance.
To many, he is best remembered for playing Henry Hill in the 1990s mobster epic Goodfellas, directed by Martin Scorsese.
The film, hailed as a classic and representative of the gangster genre, is still loved by millions more than 30 years later.
But a role that Liotta took on attracted attention in a completely different way, with a slightly more sinister tone.

Back in 1998, Ray Liotta was set to play the legendary Frank Sinatra in the movie The Rat Pack.
However, upon hearing this news, Sinatra’s two daughters, Nancy and Tina, were not satisfied.
Speaking on an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Liotta said: “We’re doing the movie and I get a pony head that means you’re raising a glass.”
Frank Sinatra died in 1998, the year the film was released, though his daughters had other plans.
They have a separate project in honor of their late father, a project separate from the film in which Liotta was in.
Liotta added: “Turns out his daughters sent it in and said, ‘Oh, you can do this, but you can’t do what we want you to?’

“Daughters, they wanted me to do a miniseries when they were doing a miniseries about it, and I just felt so uncomfortable.”
Tina and Nancy’s miniseries never appeared during the day, while The Rat Pack went on to receive three Emmy Awards.
One of the awards went to Don Cheadle for his efforts in portraying Sammy Davis Jr.
Prior to her death, Liotta had continued to perform in recent hit films such as the TV series Sopranos and its spin-off, Many Saints of Newark.
Liotta herself was born in Newark, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, New York.
Despite his penchant for taking on certain roles, before his death, Liotta said he wasn’t like the mob-style characters he used to play.
He said: “I don’t go around hitting people. I have never fought. I avoid it at all costs”.
