E4’s The Real Dirty Dancing has been put in the ‘fix’ after fans pointed out that competitor Tom Malone Jnr is a professional dancer.

The new dance reality show, hosted by Keith Lemon and Ashley Roberts, sees a group of stars immerse themselves in the experience of the 1987 comedy classic Dirty Dancing.

10 celebrities put their dance skills to the test as they performed a series of challenges and dance moves based on classic scenes from the movie between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, in hopes of being crowned Baby and Johnny.

But when the show premiered earlier this week, E4 fans took to Twitter to point out that former Gogglebox star Tom had been trained in choreography and that he regularly performs the dances for his 800,000 followers. yourself on TikTok.

One fan wrote: “Are we all just pretending that Tom Malone isn’t a professional dancer?”

Another wrote: “Isn’t Tom from gogglebox meant to be a professional dancer?”

The third wrote: “Yes, they set up, Tom is a total dancer”

But another person who didn’t mind posted: “Wow gogglebox bloke is awesome”

Other contestants include TOWIE star James Argent, Blue Peter host Anthea Turner as well as Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson.

They feature original Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey, popular comic Darren Harriott and YouTube star Saffron Barker as well as Radio DJ Verona Rose, University Challenge brainbox Bobby Seagull and Blue’s Lee Ryan.

While most of the contestants on the E4 show had little dance experience, Tom danced alongside the likes of Rita Ora, Fergie and Wiley.

Tom has trained in tap, house and ballet styles, while his dance crew Ruff Diamond came in at number two on Sky One’s Got To Dance in 2013.

A source told The Sun of Tom’s experience on the dance show: “A lot of the celebrities on the show were really surprised when they heard they were up against a trained, professional dancer.

“They all really like Tom and get along very well but of course it will be more difficult for them to absorb the moves. Tom has many years of experience. ”

Tom recently appeared on E4’s Celeb Coach Trip, but is known mostly from his days on Gogglebox with his family, before announcing his departure from the show last February.

However, Celebrity Juice star Keith Lemon, whose real name is Leigh Francis, didn’t cast Tom out when asked who viewers should be looking for on the E4 show.

During an appearance on Channel 4’s Steph Packed Lunch, Keith said: “They’re really good. I was really impressed with Arg from TOWIE and Lee Ryan from Blue, who really looked like Patrick Swayze forward slashing young Bobby Davro. ”

Keith said he was in tears as Arg danced with Anthea, adding: “I just thought, I would be too soft. I thought I was hiding, but it moved me. He’s really good at this. Everyone did a great job. ”
