Rebecca ‘Dimplez’ Ijeoma has been appointed Senior Vice President, Digital Marketing & Content Development for Capitol Music Group (CMG).
Ijeoma will report to CMG President Arjun Pulija, who has taken the role in January 2022and is based in Hollywood.
In his new role, CMG said, Ijeoma will co-lead the company’s digital division alongside CMG Senior Vice President, Digital Strategy, Business Development and Operations, Nicholas Osborne.
She will oversee a team of digital marketers, content leaders, strategists and social media managers to develop and execute plans to incorporate CMG artists into the “cultural conversation.” ” through social media and internet strategies, CMG said.
Ijeoma will also aim to strengthen marketing collaborations with digital and social media partners, and will focus on direct fan engagement and commerce at the marketing campaign level.
Ijeoma joined CMG after four years as the head of his own marketing agency, IJEOMA.
At IJEOMA, Ijeoma led all the marketing, digital and project efforts alongside DJ Premier on the release of Gang Starr’s first album in 16 years, One of the best things mentionedin 2019.
IJEOMA also became the lifestyle marketing agency, brand partner and digital strategy for RCA Records, with Ijeoma working on a rotating roster of artists including Flo Milli, Tone Stith, Usher and Wiz Kid.
Other clients and artists Ijeoma and her team have worked with include Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Omah Lay, Arista Records, Rostrum Records, Rich The Kid, 300 Ent, Twitter, Roc Nation, Empire and HITCO.
The IJEOMA agency will continue under the leadership of John King, Ijeoma’s former partner.
Before founding IJEOMA, Ijeoma held the position of Digital Marketing Manager at CMG.
In that position, Ijeoma was “instrumental” in the release of the R&B title Queen Naija and the artist’s debut single, Medicineand released his self-titled EP, CMG said.
