The 36-year-old said: “Many years ago, when I was just starting out, I took the Megabus from Liverpool to London. It’s as cheap as french fries. We often drive through Park Lane.

“That inspired me because I looked at The Dorchester and thought, ‘Someday I’ll stay there.’ Getting married there is a dream come true for me.”

Ferguson said it was testament to how far she had come to leave “terrible things” behind and find “peace and happiness”.

She had top 20 songs including Nothing’s Real But Love, Backtrack and I Hope, according to Official Charts.

All of her albums, 2011’s Heaven, 2013’s Freedom, 2015’s Lady Sings The Blues, and 2016’s Superwoman made the top 10.
