Rebekah Vardy ‘fears in public’ after receiving 100 threats a day

Rebekah Vardy says she’s “scared to be in public” in her legal battle with Coleen Rooney, after receiving up to 100 abusive texts a day.
The 40-year-old man, who is married to Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, said some people have “goes further” to abuse her – even linking her to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and members of what The so-called Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
She told The Sun: “The whole thing was terrible. Worst of all, I worry about being alone, leaving the house. I’m scared to go out in public places.
“Even the smallest things, like going shopping, are horrible.”
She continued: “People always say, ‘These people aren’t going to say things to your face,’ but really you get some weird going further.
“I was abused like crazy. At first it will be 100 messages per day. “
“I was involved in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, people assumed I was a member of IS, stuff like that.

“It’s as if I’ve killed someone.”
Vardy said her husband had advised her not to read the messages sent to her, but she found it hard to ignore when the abuse targeted her family.
“When you subject my children to such cruel and disgusting hatred, it catches my eye and it hurts,” she said.

Vardy said she then beefed up her personal protection to include a full-time security chief at her home in Leicestershire.
