Rebekah Vardy has shared her strict parenting style with husband Jamie and admitted she is the ‘bad cop’ in their family.

The couple, who together released their first children’s book this week, are parents to six children.

Speaking at the launch of their new venture, Becky said how limiting screen time and encouraging her children to read books instead has sparked a backlash for some. her parents.

“It’s one of the big things for us – and the kids hate us for it – but I think it’s important that with everything going on at the moment, kids are just allowed to be kids.

Rebekah, 40, is a mother to daughter Megan, 17, and son Taylor, 11, from previous relationships and shares Sofia, six, Finlay, four, and Olivia, one, with Jamie. The footballer, 35, also has 11-year-old daughter Ella from another relationship.

Leicester City striker Jamie has revealed that he often reads before bed in Vardy’s house.

The father said he makes a conscious effort to make more of the children’s routines.

“With my job, it’s hard for me to be around all the time. I’m away most of the time.

“When they were babies – and this is fair game for Becky – when I had a game, she would let me sleep so I had the energy for the game, so now when I have to stay house and arrange the bed and shower.

According to Becky, working with Jamie in a creative sense for their first book was a smooth transition as she explains why they make such a successful team.

“We’re a mix of good cop and bad cop,” she said.

“Who is who is different,” Jamie joked.

“Well, I tend to be a non-talker more often,” admits Rebekah. “Jamie would say yes, but then they knew he really meant it when he said no. But when I said it….

“I can’t count how many times I say no in a day, or don’t, or go, put on my shoes!”

The couple admit that with such a large family, it’s hard for them to find time to spend happy times together.

Jamie says that when work is away from home, he often catches Becky about the kids with regular FaceTime calls.

However, one annoying thing is that Becky still often encounters Jamie traveling far away.

“I can’t watch any Netflix with Jamie because if we start watching everything and he’s away on business and he’s done watching. So there’s no point in starting anything. with him,” Becky said.
