Rebel Wilson is back to host the BAFTA Awards tonight – two years after she stole the show with a savage speech with no bounds of prohibition that threw some punch at the Royal among the… Other topics.
The Australian actress and comedian admitted she was surprised to be asked back before the show after fearing she would be ‘cancelled’ during her final gag-filled speech.
In 2020, the Pitch Perfect star made viewers’ hearts flutter when she rips tear marks in Prince Andrew and Harry – all with Prince William and Kate Middleton sitting just meters away from her in the pew head.
The royal couple were seen grinning in their seats as some unfortunate headlines surrounding their family members were made in front of the Royal Albert Hall’s star-studded audience.
The incredible moment came when Rebel took to the stage to present the award for best director.
Starting off as she intended, Rebel first targeted nominees.
“I look at the brilliant, daring talent nominated in this category and I don’t think I can do what they do,” Rebel said of the all-male nominees. “Honestly, I just don’t have the ball,” she said.
The actress then ‘mistakenly referred to’ Royal Albert Hall as ‘Royal Andrew Hall’, with the Duke having been accused of sleeping with a 17-year-old girl trafficked by his pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein.
The civil suit was rejected by Andrew and subsequently resolved without admissibility.
After Rebel pulls off the joke, the camera turns to the royal couple, who are smiling awkwardly.
She continues to mock her film Cats – which has been a hit at the box office, sexism in the film industry and BAFTA’s efforts to be eco-friendly.
Rebel began: “Good evening esteemed guests and unidentified people. It’s great to be here at Royal Andrews … Royal Harry … Royal Phillip … where the royal palace is located. this.
“I was just told backstage that no one was getting a big gift bag tonight, yes you all got a gift purse instead, which is funny because that’s also my nickname. my vagina.
“So it’s probably me who’s going to get the best initial score at tonight’s party.”
She then joked that her dress was made up of two dresses sewn together to be ‘more sustainable’, ‘one of which was from the Cats movie funeral,’ she said. more.
“Cats, it’s weird not being nominated for any awards. I’m not sure if people here are arguing but this year there has been a marked lack of cat nominations,” she said. with a starry audience.
She then held BAFTA to her mouth, saying, “What a great way to prevent you from catching the coronavirus.”
The four-minute riot on the podium had an all-star audience sewn up with many clearly seen spitting in their seats.
It has also received a huge response from viewers at home, with many calling for Rebel to host the entire show a year.

Fast-forward two years and Rebel received the honor of standing in front of the prestigious film ceremony, after last year’s show was taken online due to the Covid lockdown.
Luckily for Rebel, the royal couple won’t be in the crowd on Sunday night as they have confirmed they won’t be attending this year
Before holding the show Sunday night, Rebel admitted she was afraid of being ‘cancelled’ with a few of her jokes.
“Your head is on tight block as a host, which is a bit scary. I’m very nervous,” she told Radio Times.
“Children are so hard, why can’t they be destroyed?” she asked.
