Recall of Primark children’s products due to unsafe levels of lead

primark is recalling a range of children’s products as they have been found to release trace amounts of lead and formaldehyde.

primark has issued a recall of its Winnie the Pooh plaque, the bunny plaque, the bear plaque and the rainbow plaque.

In a statement, the store said the products “not up to Primark’s usual high standards For safety.”

The products can be returned to Primark for a full refund without proof of purchase or receipt.

A Primark spokesman said: “We have heard that the Primark children’s dinnerware products pictured above ‘Winnie the Pooh Plate’, ‘Bunny Character Wooden Plate’, ‘Bear Character Wooden Plate’ and ‘Rainbow Wood Plate’ do not match the to Primark’s usual high security standards.

“The products were found to emit trace amounts of lead and formaldehyde in excess of the levels permitted by EU regulation.

“The products have been available in our UK stores since 7th October 2021 (Bunny Character Wooden Plate and Bear Character Wooden Plate) and 29th May 2022 (Winnie the Pooh Plate and Rainbow Wooden Plate).

“As the safety of our customers is paramount, we are conducting a voluntary recall and inviting you to return these products to any Primark store in the UK for a full refund.
