Dancing on Ice: Paul Gascoigne cheers on his son Regan

Regan Gascoigne has done what many of us don’t think possible – bring Gazza to tears through the power of dance.

The popular Dancing on Ice star has topped the weekly charts with his sensational performances in the rink.

Regan, who teamed up with pro skater Karina Manta, even made celebrity dad Paul Gascoigne wipe away tears with her stunning routines.

Proud father Paul was spotted watching his son in the studio audience alongside Regan’s sister, Bianca Gascoigne, who has declared her “the proudest sister in the universe”.

However, the reality TV star has confessed that watching Regan do so well on the ice can be “sad and bitter” because of the horrific injuries some celebrities have suffered.

“To watch Regan being on the ice was also very difficult because there were some nasty injuries on the show, like cut and torn skin and sprains,” said Bianca. Closer Journal.

“I’m always on the edge of my seat because I know he can really hurt himself – a bit of a bittersweet feeling.

“My dad was in tears watching Regan and so did I. We were all really moved because he’s such a gorgeous actor.”

Some might have expected Dancing on Ice star Regan Gascoigne to follow in his father’s footsteps as a footballer – but he went in a different direction.

Gazza knew his son wouldn’t follow in his footsteps from an early age after he turned his back on football boots and opted for ballet shoes instead.

Paul said: “Yes, he was going to take dance lessons in London and I looked a little sly and just got a little choked up watching him dance, seeing how good he is and how much he loves it.

“I got emotional seeing him enjoying himself. And after watching the Dancing On Ice practice videos he showed me, he’s good, he can win!”

Regan certainly inherited his father’s powers when he enrolled in the Hammond Ballet School and then went on to study musical theater at Tring Park School of Performing Arts.

While you can imagine Paul may feel heartbroken that his son doesn’t pursue football, the reality is the opposite.

“I think Dad doesn’t care that I don’t follow in his footsteps,” Regan told The Mirror earlier this year.

“He just wants me to be happy. He won’t force me to do something I don’t want to do.”

Before Regan stepped onto the ice for the first time, a pre-recorded video showed Paul wiping his eyes as he revealed how “proud” he was of his son.

In the clip, Paul tells Regan: “The moment you were born, I was a proud son.”

Regan replied: “As long as I get your support.”

Gazza added: “There’s no doubt when you step on stage I’ll be proud,” as he choked up saying, “I’m so emotional now!”

Both started well, Paul concluded: “I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you.”
