Donald Trump has called on supporters to fund a new plane for him after his plane was forced to make an emergency landing.
n Saturday, the former president’s plane made an emergency landing in New Orleans shortly after taking off from Louisiana to Florida after the plane experienced engine trouble over the Gulf of Mexico.
Mr. Trump flew in a Dassault Falcon 900, along with Secret Service agents, support staff, as well as a number of advisers to the former president.
Politico reported that one of the plane’s four engines failed. Mr. Trump had access to a donor’s plane and returned home on Sunday.
In an email to supporters on Wednesday, Mr Trump announced he was building a new plane and urged supporters to fund him.
“Do you remember Trump Force One?” said the email, which has been widely shared on social media.
“Before becoming the greatest President of all time, I traveled the country on my plane, called Trump Force One. I have a very important update on my plane, but I need to trust that you won’t share it with anyone: my team is building a BRAND NEW Trump Force One.” .
The email adds that the construction of this plane is being “finished” – not even the fake media know about it – and I can’t wait to reveal it to others. “
The email then asks: “Would you like to see President Trump’s new plane” with Yes and No options.
“I will find your answer in 1 HOUR, mate. Thank you,” concluded the email.
An email link goes to a website that calls for recurring monthly donations of up to $2,500 a month, Business Insider reported.
The plane on which Mr. Trump was making an emergency landing was lent to him by a donor and is connected to a Utah-based company that is entrusted with more than 1,400 aircraft.
His own Trump Force plane, seen during the 2015 campaign, was purchased in 2011.
Mr. Trump customized the Boeing-757 in 2011 and added the Trump family crest to all of the plane’s headrests and pillows.
He has also furnished a master bedroom, which has a large screen entertainment system and a master bath with gold fixtures.
Last May, Mr. Trump announced that the plane, which is being used in New York, would receive new engines and new paint for future rallies.
