Rescue services at the scene of the Hove home fire

East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to the flat in Church Road, Hove at 5.25am this morning, Friday 5 August.

The police and ambulance were also called to the scene of the accident.

Seven pumps were deployed to extinguish the fire.

The fire brigade is now carrying out salvage work on the property.

A spokesman for ESFR said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services are conducting a rescue operation following a fire at a flat in Hove.

“We were called at 5.25am this morning 5 August 2022 after smoke was reported from a property on Church Road.

“Everyone has been considered. The police and ambulance were alerted.
