According to a new study, men named Michael are more likely to end up in prison. Figures released by the Department of Justice revealed the first names of all 82,000 men and women currently jailed in England and Wales, including 1,777 Michaels. In women’s prisons, which hold more than 3,000 inmates, the most common name is Emma, of which there are 57. This equates to almost 2% of female prison inmates.
Four-year-old takes a ride in mom’s car
A four-year-old boy has been compared to an F1 star after driving his mother’s car in the Netherlands. Officials said the child crashed into two parked cars and was found walking around in her pajamas and barefoot in Utrecht. Taking to Instagram, police said they had spotted a “new Max Verstappen,” adding that no one was injured in the incident. The boy was examined by paramedics and taken to a police station where he was given a hot chocolate, Sky News said.
Maradona shirt breaks auction records
The shirt worn by Diego Maradona when he scored the ‘Hand of God’ goal to knock England out of the 1986 World Cup sold at auction for a record-breaking £7.1million. The Argentinian star previously described his controversial goal in the quarter-finals as “a little bit with Maradona’s head and a little bit with the hand of God”. The previous auction record for sports memorabilia was for an original autographed manuscript of the 1892 Olympic Manifesto sold at Sotheby’s in 2019 for $8.8 million, £7.05 million at today’s exchange rate.
