I watched Jurassic Live not knowing what to expect and had a wonderful surprise.
Sure, I knew there would be giant dinosaurs on the Theater Royal stage. But little did I know it would have a really strong feel-good factor that is so appropriate for this time of year.
The show is perfect for children from very young to teenagers and the cast has a talent for making it very funny and entertaining for adults at the same time. They all look like they’re laughing themselves, with hi-kinks and fun dances, sometimes with a strong and heavy dose of panto-like mayhem. Nathan Saxton as Ranger Joe is extremely entertaining and the cast is also full of talented actors and singers, most notably Jessie Hack as Amber, who is transported into the world of dinosaurs while her grandpa Joe reads her a bedtime story.
The dinosaurs are really impressive, like Trixie the Triceratops. The sound effects are also perfect. I won’t spoil it, but it’s fair to say they did an amazing job with the role played by the pterodactyl.

By the end of the show, the packed hall was full of smiles and I wondered how quickly two hours had passed.
If you need to keep the kids entertained come straight there, it runs through Friday.
