Revolut, the global finance app, is launching two “learn and earn” crypto courses.
t says the courses aim to help clients understand cryptocurrencies, blockchains, and the most popular tokens and protocols.
It comes after a crash in the value of cryptocurrencies over the past few months.
Crypto General Manager at Revolut, Emil Urmashin said: “Our customers are very interested in learning more about cryptocurrencies.
“Learning and earning will help them better understand the trends, risks and potential opportunities associated with crypto.”
Revolut said the courses will only be available to European and UK customers.
The company warned that “the price or value of cryptocurrencies can rise or fall rapidly at any time.”
“It can even go to zero.
“Unlike regular money, no bank or government can stabilize the value of a cryptocurrency if it suddenly changes.”
Bitcoin’s value is down more than 52 percent this year and is now valued at around $20,000 per coin, according to Forbes, down from its all-time high of around $69,000 in November.
Fears of a new “crypto winter,” first occurring in 2014, have been reignited by talk of a global recession and a feared flood of around 150,000 bitcoins to hit the market, further driving the price down.
While Revolut grants access to more than 80 different cryptocurrencies and their courses are not specifically limited to Bitcoin, they recognize crypto’s volatility.
“Revolut regularly communicates with customers that crypto tokens are volatile assets and prices can change rapidly,” the website reads.
“Cryptocurrencies are unregulated. Funds are not protected and their price is extremely volatile.”
