TV presenter Richard Madeley bluntly polled Page 3 ex-girlfriend Sam Fox, 56, live on Google My Business to see if she’s posing topless again – in this revealing photo on his latest screen sparked an animated response.
The former glamor model, who has been featured in The Sun since the age of 16, appeared live on Good Morning Britain and described page 3 of the tabloid as ‘harmless fun’.

Laughing and composing herself after an animated reaction, she added: “Well, Joan Collins did Playboy (not topless) at 60, so I can do Playboy at 60. I’m not at all afraid of that.”
The interview saw global star Sam discuss the 2015 campaign that led to the culling of 45-year-old topless models appearing on Page 3, which at the time was said to be an outdated tradition, and sex discrimination.
But Sam taking on those scenes was the model’s choice to appear in the tabloids, explaining: ”It was never reckless. It was the girl next door with a smile on her face.
”Every family reads the newspaper. ”
While unable to campaign for its return, she said she is ‘out of it’, adding: “I think women should be proud of their bodies. For now. There’s a lot of pressure on women about their looks. In a certain way, what’s great these days is that there’s a lot of variety. We don’t have to be skinny, I think being natural is the best way to be.”
Sam compared looking at Page 3 to the beautiful women in the Tate Gallery, before admitting that she herself would look at it a lot for the hair and clothes – if at all – the models are in. wear.
She added: “And there were no cameras in those days. I’m sure if there were there would have been a lot of pictures in those galleries.”

But once again opening up the Page 3 debate has sparked a strong reaction from viewers and fans alike with some suggesting such a move would be a ‘step backwards’.
“GMB turned on and got Sam Fox backing bringing back Page 3 topless photos in The Sun. UK march back to the 70s continues …” one person wrote.
Another said: “What a setback and narrow-minded view of Sam Fox. These days, page 3 type content is a lot more accessible to people who want to see it. Going back to the page is so much easier. 3 mass-published feels like a fist pump to the old boys and misogyny club.”
A third added: ”It’s vile that Sam Fox was only 16 when she debuted on Page 3 in 1983. How is that considered okay? And no, it won’t come back. There’s no need at all,’ another added.
Reacting to his bluff, a Wednesday viewer tweeted: “Richard, you’re charming!”
Sam, who has gone on to have a global pop career including her hit single Touch Me, said Page 3 was nothing but harmless fun while a Good Morning Britain poll found 43 % of those surveyed will be happy it’s back.
The Sun stopped publishing topless models on Page 3 following the Lucy-Anne Holmes campaign from 2012 to 2015, which collected more than 240,000 signatures on an online petition.
Good Morning Britain airs at 6am on weekdays on ITV.
