“We have to fight for points, we’re in the relegation zone and we have to approach every game with the same motivation. You [the players] need to show they care. I like it. You don’t have to go over the limit, you have to show that you care, that’s what the fans want to see. I pushed them a bit before the game because the situation is clear. We need to be at that level in all of our remaining games. That has to keep coming in, and if it doesn’t, we have to sort it out.
Jordan Pickford made a series of saves to deny Chelsea an equalizer and Lampard gushed about England’s no. He added: “Jordan (Pickford) made great saves. They are Chelsea and they will have chances but we had chances too. Jordan is such a great kid, he’s England’s number one and that’s why.”
“This is goalkeeping at the highest level. I’m happy with him and all the players and all the substitutes.”
