Rihanna’s fans have voiced their displeasure after Chris Brown posted about the pop superstar.

The Barbadian singer reportedly gave birth to her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky earlier this week and her ex Chris took to social media to send her a goodwill message.

Rihanna and Chris previously dated from 2007 to 2009 – but the rapper has been charged with assault and criminal intimidation after assaulting his girlfriend ahead of the 51st Annual Grammy Awards , where she plans to perform.

The pair mended their relationship briefly in 2013, although Chris is still on probation for the violence.

However, the 33-year-old appears to have put their past behind them with a congratulatory message on his Instagram story following news that Rihanna had given birth.

Together he posted a praying hand and red heart emoji, he wrote “Congratulations” followed by a pregnant emoji below.

Despite the reasonable message of good luck, Rihanna’s fans were left stunned by Chris’ online actions.

On Twitter, one person commented: “Chris Brown has absolutely no business congratulating our Queen Riri on the birth of a baby.”

Another wrote: “Chris Brown tells Rihanna that congratulating Rihanna on IG is unique.”

A third tweeted: “The problem with Chris Brown” congratulating “Rih is he NEVER shows that energy to the mothers of his own children.”

However, some Twitter users also support him for the gesture.

One wrote: “I see nothing wrong with Chris Brown congratulating Rihanna… she forgave him and he will probably never forgive himself for that day, but he he’s growing up and he’s turning to love her maybe he’ll never forget the times he had with her tho.”

A second posted: “I don’t understand how Chris brown congratulating Rihanna is a problem for some.”

Rihanna has embraced her changing body during pregnancy by showing off her growing figure in tight bikinis and dresses.

Her last public appearance was earlier this month on May 9 in LA for Mother’s Day when she and Rocky enjoyed a lavish dinner at a posh restaurant.

Rihanna and Rocky have been together since 2020 and announced they were parents for the first time in January.
