Rihanna says she felt “new levels of love and respect” for her mother as a result of her own pregnancy experience as she wished her a happy birthday.
The 36-year-old singer, who is preparing to welcome her first child with rapper ASAP Rocky, described her mother as “the real MVP (Most Valuable Player)” and vowed the couple would celebrate.
Sharing a picture of the pair on Instagram, she wrote, “Today is my Queen’s Birthday!!!
“Being on the brink of motherhood has unlocked new levels of love and respect for my mommy in ways I could never explain!
“She is the true MVP and I want to give her flowers every second that I can! I love you mumzzzz!!!
“Happy birthday! We will celebrate when we connect!”
