Hauliers say Irish imports should be landed in Dublin or rerouted through Belgium to avoid pre-Christmas chaos following an imminent strike at the port of Liverpool.

More than 560 dockers and engineers last week voted to take industrial action in a dispute with Liverpool port owner Peel Ports.
