RMT train strike warning ahead of the game between Brighton and Hove and Tottenham Hotspur

A FOOTBALL club has issued travel advice to fans ahead of this weekend’s game, which coincides with rail strikes.

Passengers will face severe disruption tomorrow as members of the RMT and Network Rail take part in another day of industrial action in an ongoing dispute over pay.

Brighton and Hove Albion Fsaid there will be no trains to Falmer Station for the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex.

A spokesman said the usual travel system will be in place, with fans able to use public transport within the travel zone if they show their game ticket.

Supporters have been asked to plan their trip “carefully”.

How to travel to the Amex on Saturday:

  • The club operates a bus shuttle service from Brighton city center and Lewes Station
  • The Brighton shuttle service departs from Old Steine ​​(bus stop F) three hours before kick-off. Fans can also take bus routes 25, 28, 29 to Falmer from this stop
  • Post game pickup from A27 Falmer Station bus stop
  • The Lewes shuttle service departs from Lewes train station three hours before kick-off. Post game pickup from bus stop A27 eastbound
  • Park and Ride: There will be Park and Ride at Mill Road (BN1 8ZF) and Brighton Racecourse (BN2 9XZ). Pyecombe Equestrian Center is sold out.
  • All locations open from 2.30pm and fans are advised to arrive early as parking at Mill Road and Racecourse is on a first come, first served basis
  • The last park and ride bus leaves the stadium 1.5 hours after the final whistle and the facilities close shortly thereafter
  • Buses: Brighton and Hove Buses and Stagecoach operate as normal in the club’s travel zone on Saturdays
  • Seagull Travel offers an enhanced service for this game and to book a seat on a bus visit their website
  • Coaches: All groups wishing to come to the match by coach or minibus must book parking via supporter.services@brightonandhovealbion.com
  • The roads are expected to be busy, so people have been advised to allow extra time for their journey. There is also road work taking place on Coldean Lane
  • Parking: There are limited spaces available at Sussex University (Car Park C) and the Bridge (Car Park B) which fans can purchase on the club’s website
  • The club have warned that there will be no cash sales at all car parks that day.
  • All vehicles authorized to park in Car Park C must enter through Stanmer Park as there is no entrance at Falmer or Knights Gate. Sussex University (Car Park C) is a short walk through the underpass to the Amex Stadium
  • The club warned that the exit after the game will be very busy due to the additional use of additional parking spaces on the university campus
  • Drop-off and Collection Point: There are no collection or drop-off points on Village Way or Woollards Way (the entrance to Bridge Car Park B). Supporters are advised to use the club’s official drop-off and collection point at the University of Sussex, car park 5 next to the sports hall
  • Alternatively, people can get off at Old Steine ​​(bus stop F) or Lewes train station and use the additional shuttle service.

Supporters have been warned that there is no local street parking for football fans as a resident parking system is in operation in all areas near the Amex and law enforcement officers will be on patrol.

Village Way will be “extremely busy and congested” and fans are advised to avoid this area both before and after the game unless they have pre-booked parking.
