Road closed after incident in Kemp Town

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an accident.

An eyewitness described seeing a van drive along the curb before an injured person was taken to an ambulance

Ambulance services said a man collapsed in a vehicle in Kemp Town this afternoon.

According to the police, two vehicles collided. The road was closed by officials.

Sussex Police said officers responded to reports of an incident just after 1.50pm.

A spokesman said: “The road was closed while emergency services, including colleagues from Secamb, were at the scene.

“The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital in a serious but stable condition.”

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) took the man to the hospital around 2:20 p.m.

He is now being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. No further information on his condition is available at this time.

The road has now been reopened after the incident.
