A man and woman decide to bring their Clarice Cliffs collection to Dyffryn Gardens in Wales for the latest episode of Antiques Roadshow, but they’re not prepared for expert valuations

A couple appearing on the latest episode of Antiques Roadshow have hinted that they have their Clarice Cliff collection.

The duo decided to take the charging plate, pitcher, mug and saucer to Dyffryn Gardens in Wales for expert Will Farmer to take a closer look at their colorful collection.

The man and woman explained that the items were a mix of their inheritance and their own collection, and that the most they spent on a single piece was £60.

Referring to the 18-inch charging plate, main explained: “I think it cost £35 from an antique shop in Cardiff.”

Then, Will decided to give his verdict on the individual items and began: “The jars here, you’re talking there between £500 and £700 each.”

The pair looked stunned but listened as Will said the sugar strainer alone could add ‘£500 or £600’.

However, it seems Will had the best savings until finally when he said of the charging plate: “You really ran out of money that day because your £35 investment was between £3000 and £4000. “

The man and woman literally gasped when she asked Will: “May I sit down?”

Will later added: “Certainly what’s on the table here in front of us, you’re looking here alone somewhere between £10,000 and £15,000.”

Panting again, the woman joked: “Don’t tell the kids! as Will replied: “You might have to tell them not to watch! But no, it’s a great collection so thank you very much.”

Antiques Roadshow continues on Sunday at 8pm on BBC One.
