Roberto De Zerbi appointed as Brighton head coach

He has signed a four-year contract, subject to obtaining a work permit.

The 43-year-old Italian watched a friendly behind closed doors at the Amex yesterday afternoon.

De Zerbi will be supported by a coaching staff who have worked with him at his previous clubs and the new team are scheduled to be on site in time for Albion’s game in Liverpool on October 1.

Albion chairman Tony Bloom said: “I am absolutely delighted that Roberto has agreed to become our new head coach.
