Roberto De Zerbi has added his tribute to those who came for Tottenham’s fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone.

A minute of applause ahead of tomorrow’s Spurs game at the Amex.

Spurs confirmed on Thursday morning that the highly regarded Italian had died aged 61.

Ventrone had joined the club alongside manager Antonio Conte last November and was described as a “hugely popular figure with players and staff” in a statement confirming his death.

Tottenham have now revealed plans to pay their respects to the veteran manager, with players from both clubs wearing black armbands at the Amex, while more tributes will be paid in next week’s home game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ventrone was well known to De Zerbi and his mainly Italian backroom staff.

At a press conference this morning, De Zerbi said: “We are very saddened by this loss.

“We feel sorry for him, Antonio, his staff and his family.

“It was very bad news for Tottenham and all the people who work in our work.” Roberto De Zerbi pays tribute to Spurs manager Gian Piero Ventrone
